A community of coffee geeks and creatives, we believe in the power of East Africa – its art, fashion, music and of course its coffee. By sourcing exclusively from East African farmers and roasting and packaging locally in Nairobi, the value we create in East Africa stays in East Africa. Our mission is bigger than great coffee alone – we aim to eradicate poverty, empower farmers and reverse deforestation in East Africa’s coffee communities. It’s all about leaving behind a better world than the one we inherited.

Our baristas – Tess and Felix – have won the last three Kenya barista championships. To give them a platform for their vast talents, we transformed an industrial space in Nairobi’s Westlands neighborhood into a cool cafe. Here you can enjoy East Africa’s best coffee served up by Kenya’s best baristas in an atmosphere of art, music, and performance. Our café is also the only place in Nairobi right now to buy our coffee.

THE REAL REVOLUTION IS FAIRCHAIN

The Republic of Everyone serves exclusively FairChain coffee. That means all our coffee is roasted and packaged at origin near where our coffee is grown. It means we pay our farmers living incomes and help diversify their earnings through agroforestry. It means we are investing heavily to protect East African forests and plant new ones. It also means we treat coffee growers and coffee drinkers as equal partners. FairChain is our blueprint for the future of coffee. A business model designed to leave behind a better world than the one we inherited.

Yes, we are against systemic poverty, rabid deforestation and climate change, and we absolutely hate the world’s obscene inequalities. But these days it’s not enough to be against things — you have to stand (up) for things as well. This is what we stand for:
